The first thing many notice upon hearing Gemma is her striking technical proficiency on fiddle. She is a lifelong musician, growing up with classical Suzuki training. Playing in several classical ensembles and orchestras throughout high school, she was always enchanted by folk music traditions. Her fiddle style is influenced by her time living in southeastern West Virginia steeped in old-time and bluegrass as well as playing in and around Dublin, Ireland while studying at University College Dublin. Gemma's performance style leans on the classical, old-time, and Irish influences to flow authentically with multiple genres.
